What is Reiki attunement and is it different from Reiki healing?

Reiki attunement and Reiki healing are two different things entirely. Reiki healing is the process of using your energy to heal. Reiki attunement is part of the process of being trained for Reiki healing.

You receive a Reiki attunement from a qualified Reiki master as part of the completion of each of the three levels of Reiki – Reiki I, II, and III.

These attunements prepare you and qualify you to perform Reiki healing. This healing can be on others, or it can be self healing. As you progress through the levels of Reiki Training, you develop your healing powers.

It is important to understand that in a Reiki attunement no energy is being transferred from the Reiki master to the student.

Instead, the Reiki master is using his energy to attune the student’s energy to Reiki healing.

What Does Reiki Attunement Do?

All the Reiki energy you need to heal is already within you. A Reiki attunement channels that power, by optimizing and clearing your chakras so that the energy flow and the connection with the universal life energy flow is sufficient for you to have the ability to use your energy for Reiki healing!

That is why distance healing is possible with Reiki. If an energy transfer was required for Reiki healing or for Reiki attunement, then distance healing, without physical contact, would not be possible. But it is! Very much so!

It is very important to receive your Reiki attunement for each level from a highly qualified Reiki master. Indeed, the experience and qualifications of the Reiki master are much more important than the physical presence of the Reiki master for the attunement.
