Reiki Therapy And What It Is All About
Reiki therapy is somewhat unique. Because Reiki healing or therapy has become the center of many other natural healing methods.
If you think about it, Reiki embraces the aura, the chakra system and balancing of the chakras, meditation, and crystal healing.
And that is before one even considers aromatherapy, naturopathy or homeopathy.
Theory of Reiki Therapy
The theory of Reiki is that the Reiki healer, after appropriate Reiki training and practice, is able to transfer energy (without depletion of their own energy) to the patient.

The healer focuses on the seven main chakras, and the many other minor chakras.
While the healer is transferring energy, it is important to note that the healer is only facilitating healing.
The best Reiki masters or healers will never claim that they heal anybody. Rather, they awaken and balance the patient’s own energy and facilitate the patient’s self-healing.
Impact of Reiki Therapy
The impact of Reiki energy comes in many forms. The word itself derives from Japanese words which signify the free flow of the life force or the universal life energy.
Reiki, which usually involves the laying of hands on a living object (human, animal, plant) is a most natural healing process. Young children naturally seek the touch of a parent when they have pain or hurt themselves.
Even the act of kissing or cuddling a sick child is very similar to what Reiki is all about.
Attunement to Reiki
Living beings exude and radiate warm energy. A person trained in Reiki therapy essentially, through a process of attunement, has body energy channels which are open and not cluttered. This leads to more Ki life energy and a connection to the source of all universal Ki.
It is important to remember that in an attunement all that is happening is that the opening and alignment of the energy flows through the chakras are allowing the Reiki healer to tap into what they already have. Just like in a healing session where the healer helps the patient to benefit from the patient’s own energy.
Therapy can be performed after completion of level 1 Reiki. There are 3 levels to becoming a Reiki master.
Our Non-Physical Bodies?

Therapy with Reiki is based on the premise that we are all more than physical. We also have 3 invisible, non-physical bodies which are energy levels which control and influence the physical body. This is why treating the physical ailment alone is not a complete healing process. Therapy addresses the physical, but more importantly it also addresses the three energy ‘bodies”.
There are skeptics about the validity of Reiki. It’s one of those things which you either embrace or you don’t. While Reiki is not a form of religion, it is something you have to believe in if you want to embrace it.
Your Reiki attunement is only as good as the master who is attuning you, in person or remotely. So choose very carefully!
